Rates

Fees follow the quay, the log, and the number of days on the wall

Nothing on this page is a checkout. After we have seen a sample of your movements book we send a letter of engagement. Travel from Blackstone is itemised. Bound copies beyond the first are charged at cost.

Starting figures for commissions we regularly take
Commission Starting fee What usually moves the figure
Harbour activity study From £4,800 Number of berths, quality of the log, night observations, whether a Ro-Ro ramp or lock is in play
Berth occupancy review From £1,850 Up to four berths in the base figure; crane or ramp overlay from £600
Tide-window briefing From £1,200 A second season is a separate fee; storm-surge work is out of scope
Vessel-call pattern report From £2,400 A second year’s log, if supplied, is included; reconstructing agent names adds time

Day rate when the log cannot travel

If the movements book cannot be copied, we attend at £620 a day plus travel. Those days are credited against a later study if you instruct one within six months.

What we do not price here

Court-ready letters, attendance at a planning inquiry, and multi-harbour programmes are quoted after a conversation. We will not publish a menu that pretends those jobs resemble a single-berth study.

Deposits

On-quay days are held with a 30 percent deposit against the engagement letter. The remainder is due on delivery of the draft charts. See the refund and cancellation page for what happens if a sailing is cancelled or a lock is closed.
