Rates
Fees follow the quay, the log, and the number of days on the wall
Nothing on this page is a checkout. After we have seen a sample of your movements book we send a letter of engagement. Travel from Blackstone is itemised. Bound copies beyond the first are charged at cost.
| Commission | Starting fee | What usually moves the figure |
|---|---|---|
| Harbour activity study | From £4,800 | Number of berths, quality of the log, night observations, whether a Ro-Ro ramp or lock is in play |
| Berth occupancy review | From £1,850 | Up to four berths in the base figure; crane or ramp overlay from £600 |
| Tide-window briefing | From £1,200 | A second season is a separate fee; storm-surge work is out of scope |
| Vessel-call pattern report | From £2,400 | A second year’s log, if supplied, is included; reconstructing agent names adds time |
Day rate when the log cannot travel
If the movements book cannot be copied, we attend at £620 a day plus travel. Those days are credited against a later study if you instruct one within six months.
What we do not price here
Court-ready letters, attendance at a planning inquiry, and multi-harbour programmes are quoted after a conversation. We will not publish a menu that pretends those jobs resemble a single-berth study.
Deposits
On-quay days are held with a 30 percent deposit against the engagement letter. The remainder is due on delivery of the draft charts. See the refund and cancellation page for what happens if a sailing is cancelled or a lock is closed.
