Terms of instruction
These terms apply when you instruct Content Craftline of 71 Southend Avenue, Blackstone, BN5 8JN, United Kingdom, to prepare a harbour study, occupancy review, tide-window briefing, or vessel-call report.
Acceptance
A commission begins when we send a letter of engagement and you confirm in writing, including by email to hello@content-craftline.click. Browsing this website does not create a contract. If any statement on the site conflicts with the letter of engagement, the letter prevails.
Our work
We prepare written briefings and charts from logs, tide tables, and time on the quay as scoped. We do not provide live vessel watchkeeping, hydrographic survey, legal advocacy, or design of quay works unless the letter expressly adds them. You remain responsible for harbour operations, safety, and decisions taken by your committee.
Your records
You warrant that you may share the movements book and related notes with us. You must not send material you are forbidden to copy. We may suspend work if the record is incomplete and you decline to say so in writing.
Intellectual property
Draft charts remain ours until the final invoice is paid. On payment, you receive a licence to use the bound briefing and charts for the harbour named in the letter, including circulation to your committee and staff. You may not resell the charts or present them as another author’s work. We may describe the commission in general terms, without naming the harbour, unless you ask us in the letter to keep even the generic description private.
Liability
Charts reflect the logs and observations described in the notes. Unknown days remain unknown. We are not liable for trading losses, missed sailings, or committee decisions taken on the briefing. Our liability in contract or tort is limited to the fee paid for that commission, except where United Kingdom law forbids a limit (including death or personal injury caused by negligence, and fraud).
Fees and timing
Fees, deposits, and travel are set in the letter. Starting figures on the rates page are informational. Payment is by the method named in the invoice, not through this website.
Cancellation
Cancellation, postponement of on-quay days, and refunds are described on the refund page and in the letter.
Governing law
These terms and any dispute arising from a commission are governed by the law of the United Kingdom as applied in England and Wales. The courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction, except that we may pursue unpaid invoices in the courts of your domicile.
